No Negativity for 24 Hours Challenge...I did o.k.
Last week I wrote a post
challenging myself and anyone else who wanted to join me to try to go
24 hours without saying or doing anything negative (think someone
cutting you off on the freeway!).
So last Friday, I made it my goal and my husband and daughter joined me.
I did remind everyone in the morning what our goal was. I must say that
I did well, although God gave me a really nice day without a lot of
challenges. My day started at home as my car was in the shop. My Dad
drove me there when it was done and Dad wanted to stop at Lowe's first
to pick up a few things so I got to spend a little extra time with him
which I so enjoy. (He's 85).

We then went to get my car at the shop and Jim, at Golden Auto Body
in Brook Park Ohio did a fantastic job. It was in the shop because
about one month ago, as I was picking up my open house arrows, I
decided to pull into the driveway near the corner to get my sign so
that I would not irritate the drivers behind me by stopping in the
street. Before backing out,
I checked all my mirrors and and promptly backed into a 1995 corvette!!
It was a good thing, a very good thing that it was not my no negativity
day!
Jim at Golden Auto Body, nicely offered to back my Dad's car out of kind of a tough parking space and we were on our way.
Just as I pulled on to the freeway, my phone rang but there was a lot
of construction so I didn't answer. When I checked my voice mail, it
was Jim calling to let me know that I had left the items I bought at
Lowe's in his shop. I remembered my vow not to be negative so I thanked
God that Jim found it within minutes of my leaving so that I could turn
around and get it. His shop is about 30 minutes from my home.
Time to pick up my daughter at the bus stop.
When I asked her how her no negativity day went she said it went well.
I didn't relaly press her for details but something she said made me
laugh. She told some of her friends about the cahllenge and they said
"Your Mom has to stop blogging!" Later that day it was off to a showing
that went pretty well.
My husband Lou came home around 6 and he had a very stressful day at work so I suspect he felt a bit challenged. Didn't press him about it as I figured he had a rough day.
But for me it went
pretty well and I hope that when my days are more stressful or
challenging I will remember that I do have control over what I say and
do.
