Brecksville Ohio Metroparks are Fun for Everyone!
All my life, one of my favorite activities has been long walks in
the park. My Mom and Dad took us every Sunday winter, spring, summer,
and fall and I have really fond memories of those times.
When I met my husband I found it was something he enjoyed as well and now we drag treat our daughter to it too!
Below are pictures of the park off Riverview Rd. This little creek
is where my Dad taught my daughter how to skip stones and though she is
14 and he 85, they still enjoy doing that here. There are picnic tables
and benches when you need a rest or a snack!

Here are a couple of pictures of the Oak Grove picnic area. Across
from this lovely pavilion are some swings where my daughter and I
clocked a lot of "swinging miles".

And below is one of my favorite spots, the Harriet Keeler Picnic
area, which is located just off Chippewa Rd., and just as you pass
through the center of town. The hiking trail is high above the rushing
water and boulders and offers benches, places to rest, and a pavilion
for picnics. Your kids will love the nature center where they can learn
all about the animals that inhabit the forest and watch the animals
that come to the feeders outside.

These last 2 pictures are up just a ways from where we like to skip
stones. The sign is just to the left of Riverview Rd. and when you
cross Riverview Rd. you will get to a parking area to the left of which
is this neat bridge. There is a lower bridge you walk across to get to
the Towpath Rd. There you can walk or bike for miles and miles. My
husband, daughter, and I biked for about 6 miles one Father's Day to
end up at a casual restaurant in Peninsula called Fisher's. We had a
great lunch and topped it off with an ice cream cone and then rode the
6 miles back. It was a really great time!
